A UK company has developed an iPad app that allows businesses to create their own forms for mobile workers as well as the ability to convert handwriting into text. The Formworks app from Digital Field Solutions is intended to make it easier for field-based staff to record information and upload it to back-office systems as well as making all data capture processes faster and more accurate.
Tim Howard, director, Digital Field Solutions, said, “We developed Formworks to make the data collection process more efficient for every business that needs to capture information in the field. We found that many data capture products were fiddly to use and actually made life more difficult for the user.
“We wanted to design electronic forms that are even simpler to use and more efficient than paper forms, and with its intuitive handwriting recognition technology we are confident that Formworks achieves that goal.”
The forms can be updated remotely by an administrator so that all users can instantly have most up-to-date forms, even while on the move. The forms are password protected and all information is automatically deleted from the iPad once it has been uploaded to the office. In addition, administrators can remove users remotely and block their access to the system at any time.
Howard said, “Formworks uses simple drag and drop tools with easy navigation in a familiar web-based environment so it is really easy to create your own customised forms in minutes, and with minimal training – no specialist programming skills are needed.”
Formworks can be downloaded from Apple’s App Store and is currently available for a 30-day free trial, with licences starting from £15.95 per month, with bespoke options available for larger companies.
