Tandridge District Council and Runnymede Borough Council are pioneering one of the first shared services applications for essential address data using GGP Systems. The partnership is already delivering savings in software and hardware costs, reducing staff overheads and improving data access and security.
Using gazetteer management software developed by GGP Systems, Tandridge is hosting Runnymede’s local land and property gazetteer (LLPG) and providing secure access to the data via a common network shared by all eleven councils in Surrey. Tandridge has also integrated the gazetteer within Runnymede’s geographical information system, joining up a range of front- and back-office systems.
The shared services are based on GGP’s NGz software which delivers a consistent, current and accurate base for all property-based information within an organisation. NGz also manages the import and export of data between the local authority databases and the National Land and Property Gazetteer.

By hosting Runnymede’s gazetteer management application we have achieved significant savings in costs and staff time and been able to share our experiences and expertise with the data, software and its wider integration with other council systems and services.”
