Glasgow Housing Association has recently signed up for Streetwise, Gentoo Group’s web-based anti-social behaviour case management system. The ASB service is scheduled to go live in June 2011 as part of a three-year contract.
Developed by Gentoo’s in-house team, based on their own front-line experience of ASB and the IT and business requirements of housing providers, Streetwise allows users to monitor and track ASB and other tenancy breaches effectively. Now commercially available to other housing providers, the system includes the ability to record and upload detailed information, full audit trails and direct links into GIS mapping and other reporting software.
Mick McCabe, executive director of housing and customer services, Glasgow Housing Association, said, “We already have a number of initiatives to tackle ASB including dedicated Neighbour Relations officers who work closely with the police and housing officers.
“Gentoo’s Streetwise software will add to what we already do by helping us to manage ASB cases more efficiently. It will give staff detailed information at the touch of a button on the history of every case and allow us to see much more clearly where any problem areas are emerging.”

Based on Gentoo’s price guide, GHA’s three-year contract is thought to cost around £40,000, comprising a one-off licence fee of £10,000 and £10,000 per year for the core product. Smaller housing associations with fewer housing stock could access the Gentoo service for as little as £8,000 over three years.
