South London YMCA has recently gone live with a new housing management system from Omniledger to support its 580 units across South London. Unlike larger housing providers, the high throughput of YMCA’s customers and their specific needs, including those recovering from alcohol and drug abuse or escaping domestic violence, places particular demands on its housing management system.
Lee Buss, assistant director for business improvement, South London YMCA, said, “We needed a housing management system that was easy to use, supported real-time management information and reporting, and the ability to centralise the rent arrears process.”
The implementation of the Omniledger system took just under two months, with the system live at the beginning of November 2010, including the training of 65 YMCA staff.
Buss said, “The biggest issue we have had since Pyramid’s implementation has been some of our staff forgetting their password! We have been very impressed with the system’s capability, especially relating to report generation, data accuracy and the ability to scrutinise rent accounts. We expect that Pyramid will help us to make huge improvements to our management and collection of rental income.”
