MIS-AMS has announced a strategic partnership with Cadcorp for the provision of mapping and GIS functionality for its ActiveH housing management system.
Tony Smith, managing director, MIS Active Management Systems, said, “ActiveH is a proven SQL Server-based solution covering all of the business processes involved in housing management. We can now provide a geographic dimension to our housing modules including maintenance, repairs, mobile working, KPI analysis and business intelligence reporting.”
Nick Harris, head of ICT, Cottsway Housing, said, “We switched to a combined MIS- AMS and Cadcorp system and the outcome has been dramatic. We have gone from a situation in which GIS was the preserve of a few specialist staff, to one in which all ActiveH users in Cottsway have access to geographic information. We can now see the bigger picture by using GIS to map business intelligence data linked to our housing management system.
“We are also helping the business achieve cost savings by using mapping technology to create accurate estimates for grounds maintenance tenders, for example. We also have plans to use GIS in recording the location of underground utilities, optimising the travel routes of our mobile office, and in supporting our land bank and development process.”
Mike O’Neil, CEO, Cadcorp, said, “We share a common belief that by following a standards-based approach to software development, you make it much easier for organisations to share information between people and between systems. We have had a very successful partnership with the MIS in the field of emergency services for a number of years, and we are confident we will replicate the success in housing.”
