Brent Housing Partnership has implemented an asset management system to replace its spreadsheets, enabling easier and more accurate tracking of its assets.
BHP, a three-star arm’s length management organisation created in 2002, looks after 13,000 properties on behalf of Brent Council. After recently relocating from the council’s buildings into separate offices, BHP assumed responsibility for all assets, prompting it to implement the dedicated Series4000 system from Real Asset Management.
Patricia Gbomedo, accountant at BHP, said, “We wanted something that was easier than our old spreadsheets. We have done away with sticky labels on assets and replaced them with professional bar-codes. It has made tracking and auditing our assets much easier and more accurate.”
The RAM system, having been integrated into BHP’s existing Oracle infrastructure, will maintain BHP’s asset register and also calculate depreciation, enabling the most up-to-date figures to be delivered at all times for financial reporting.
