Yorkshire Housing has been awarded the ‘Homes Set for Digital’ accreditation from Digital UK, following its programme to upgrade all communal television aerials in time for the digital switchover planner for 2011.
All properties owned by Yorkshire Housing, which share a communal aerial system, will be fully prepared to receive digital television when the switchover takes place, thanks to the installation of an integrated reception system.
Terry Gould, Yorkshire Housing, said, “Not only did we look at the requirements for the digital terrestrial switchover but we also decided to future proof our systems against our customers’ requirements by installing the full integrated reception system. This will provide communal aerials and cabling to each property, allowing residents to view analogue television until the switchover, FM radio, digital terrestrial television, digital radio, and subscribe to digital satellite television if they wish.”
Having started the work in November 2007, the contractors expect to complete all the properties by mid-2009.
