North Hertfordshire Homes has upgraded its 12-year old Aareon housing management system with Aareon’s latest QL Housing product, alongside Somer Housing Group replacing its previous HMS with QL Housing as well as QL Financials.
NHH had been using the TSHE (Simdell) housing management software from Aareon together with several other disparate systems. Having reviewed a number of other systems, NHH decided to continue with Aareon, in part due to the ease of integration between QL Housing and its existing Sun Accounts finance software.
Following Aareon’s implementation methodology, a project group was set up within NHH that included representatives from across the organisation. Aareon also used its own web-based project tool, where all project information is stored centrally so that project members from both Aareon and NHH can see all messages, milestones, to-do lists, training notes and any other project-related information.
Sante Giancola, head of ICT, North Hertfordshire Homes, said, “Having a strong internal team resulted in the implementation of QL Housing being our most successful to date. Having an integrated system has improved business flow and the sharing of information across the organisation.”
NHH went live with QL Housing at the end of October 2010.
Somer Housing Group begins implementation
Somer Housing Group has just started its implementation of QL Financials and QL Housing linked to 1st Touch’s mobile working system.
Richard Green, ICT manager, Somer Housing Group, said, “When we approached the market, we did so with a specification based on four key themes – our customers, our staff, our properties and our desire to achieve better value for money.
“With Aareon’s QL products, I believe we have found a solution capable of delivering against all these themes and we now look forward to working with Aareon to fully realise the system’s potential.”
The SHG implementation began in March 2011 and is planned for completion by the end of this year.
