Erimus Housing and Tees Valley Housing, both part of Fabrick Housing Group, have launched an interactive digital TV service for their tenants. The FABTV service is available free to all tenants with Sky, Virgin or broadband-connected Freeview televisions.
Simply by using the interactive service on their remote control, the new access channel lets tenants report a repair, browse available properties via the choice-based lettings service, and find out about financial support. They can also look for a job via the Jobcentre Plus service, get the latest traffic and transport updates from Transport Direct and even plan a journey anywhere in the UK.
The NHS Choices service is also available, providing health guidance, a health A-Z directory and the facility to book a GP appointment or request a repeat prescription via the remote control. In addition, the FABTV service can be accessed via internet-enabled mobile phones.
Susie Thompson, group director of operations, Fabrick, said, “It is important that we offer customers as many ways as possible for them to access information. FABTV is an exciting development which lets people find out more from their own homes and improves access for people who may not be able to connect to the internet easily.
