Antonine Housing Association is implementing Real Asset Management’s Asset4000 component accounting software in readiness for the April 2012 deadline for SoRP compliance.
From April 2012, housing providers will have to break their asset accounting down into individual components; anything that is currently deemed replaceable, such as a roof or bathroom, will count as an individual asset under the new Statement of Recommended Practice (SoRP) ruling. With 340 houses under management, Antonine’s asset register will increase to over 2,300 items under the new guidelines.
Michael Devlin, director, Antonine Housing, said, “The layout and the ease of access to the various components in Asset4000 will allow us to hold all our information in one place, so that there will be significant time and efficiency savings compared with our previous spreadsheet-based system.”
