Network Housing Group is using Atlanta Technology to support its virtualised server and storage requirements, including VMware and Microsoft Exchange Server.
Patrick Dawson, head of IS operations, Network Housing Group, said, “While we have third-line support capability within our in-house team of 10, we need to have a clear route to escalate and quickly resolve issues that cannot be fixed internally. We chose Atlanta to provide this across a number of critical server-side services.”
NHG has completed its migration to Commvault for data back-ups, replicating 10TB of data onto the SAN at its disaster recovery site as well as running LTO tape. Dawson explained, “We chose Atlanta to help with this because it involved integration with VMware. This involved advanced scripting to coordinate the operation of Commvault with the SAN and the virtual machines and our in-house team don’t have that experience.”
Dawson added, “As Atlanta supports a number of other customer sites, their engineers have more ‘combat experience’. This means that they are more experienced at server-side trouble-shooting or may even have solved the issue in question elsewhere before.”
