Tribal Group has sold its health and government consulting businesses, which include its housing division, to Capita Group for just under £16 million.
In the consolidated accounts for Tribal to the end of 2010, the health and government businesses had combined gross assets of almost £72 million and combined operating losses of £2.7 million. Following completion of the proposed sale, Tribal will be focused on the education and training markets in the UK and abroad, providing a range of technology, inspection and other professional support services.
Mark Wylie, managing director, Capita Consulting, said, “This acquisition transforms our position in the market and marks a huge opportunity for growth. Tribal’s expertise in helping to improve the delivery of public services complements our own ambitions and will strengthen our proposition for service delivery and technical support across central and local government.”
