City Building (Glasgow) has chosen mobile working software from 1st Touch to support its responsive repairs and gas operatives working for many of the company’s housing customers.
The 1st Touch implementation is City Building’s second attempt at mobile working, having previously tried another mobile application and realised the importance of closely integrating the mobile software with its existing Civica repairs system and Xmbrace appointment scheduling tool.
Angela Murphy, head of IT, City Building, said, “Flexibility and integration with our existing applications are important, so 1st Touch scored well there. However we also needed a solution that would allow us to take development in-house. This is an expanding part of our business as it lets us change the system to suit the specific needs of different customers. Thus with 1st Touch in place, we can respond even faster to our customers.
“In fact we can now give customers real-time updates and as the customers have access to the application, they can see the job status themselves at a glance. When you look at the processes now in place, the amount of paperwork and administration is significantly reduced which is good news for all concerned.”
