As part of a three-year contract, Easynet has completed the installation of an MPLS network spanning Metropolitan Housing Partnership’s 200 sites across the UK.
MHP’s staff can now work from any location on the network, keeping the same telephone number and accessing the same applications wherever they are. The new network proved itself during the riots in London in 2011 when 26 MHP properties were damaged. With the move to a centralised system within Easynet’s co-location data centres, MHP relocated services away from its inner-city offices and continued with its everyday work.
Patrick Walsh, IT director, Metropolitan Housing Partnership, said, “For an organisation performing a vital role for some of the country’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged citizens, being able to help our people collaborate effectively means our network has become a mission-critical business asset.”
