A live SMS-based survey conducted by Orchard Information Systems at the National Housing Federation’s finance conference earlier this year suggests that component accounting and chaotic budgetary cycles (both 22 per cent) are the greatest challenges for finance managers in housing.
The survey, which was conducted live on Orchard’s stand using its Communicator system, also found that budget holder queries (20 per cent) and missing paperwork (19 per cent) presented similar levels of difficulty. The least problematic areas were hand-written forms (5 per cent) and coping with the volume of invoices (13 per cent).
