Tenants can now connect and communicate with other tenants and landlords following the launch of TenantBook, a new social media channel similar to the widely-used FaceBook, developed by the Board Development Agency.
Using the same structure and range of functionalities as FaceBook, TenantBook is already attracting a growing number of tenant and landlord members who are using it to network with each other and find out what others are doing, such as setting up an online group covering resident’s scrutiny.
Yvonne Atkinson, director, Board Development Agency, “Just two weeks from TenantBook going live, we already have a large number of tenants and organisations using TenantBook and you can see people helping each other. Because there is no cost, it is an effective way of engaging with tenants.
Every housing organisation wants to find new ways of involving tenants. Social media offers a new and immediate way of getting feedback and involving tenants who may not want to come to meetings or use traditional communication channels.”
