ISG Technology has won networking and support contracts from Golden Gates Housing Trust worth a total of around £210,000 as part of the housing provider’s complete network upgrade.
The contracts comprise a three-year managed firewall contract last year for £20,000, a similar length contract worth £90,000 for HP LAN switches with support and monitoring, and most recently a Sharepoint development deal of £100,000.
The network upgrade is the result of GGHT experiencing various network issues which meant that its 310 users suffered from slow and unreliable network connectivity. GGHT chose ISG Technology to upgrade and enhance the dated network infrastructure, optimise the network for multiple telecommunication providers and multiple internet gateways.
The project began with ISG Technology analysing the existing installation through extensive server analysis and network monitoring, identifying the networking problems, followed by the execution of the network and server upgrade over a single weekend in order to minimise the disruption to GGHT’s end-users and tenants. GGHT reported that ISG Technology’s solution used as much of the existing installation and available equipment as possible.
Steve Lamb, head of ICT and BPR, Golden Gates Housing Trust, said, “We are really pleased with the way ISG Technology performed. It met all of our project deadlines and has resolved some long-standing system problems. We now have a stable network platform for our staff to work from.”
