Metronet UK has just launched a new 3G mobile service for remote working in the housing sector. The AnywhereConnect service uses direct connections to its partners’ 3G networks to send traffic over an entirely private network infrastructure from the 3G network point straight to the internet, which the company said results in better performance, faster speeds and guaranteed security.
The AnywhereConnect service is based on a month-to-month contract and lets companies share their data allowance across their users’ SIM cards as well as only paying for the data they use. Using the Metronet service, each user’s SIM card can be configured to operate as an office site on a company’s network so that access to business systems and applications can be achieved without setting up VPNs or complex user-authentication processes.
Wayne Squire, IT manager, Parkway Green, said, “Metronet’s AnywhereConnect product allows our mobile devices to connect securely to the corporate network without the usual overhead of VPNs and other connection brokers, at the same time as giving the IT team full control and peace of mind while enjoying increased performance and flexibility.”
