A leading recruitment company has launched a programme specifically to attract and retain senior managerial talent to the social housing sector. Macallam Integrated Resourcing said that its Talentrack mentoring programme delivers carefully profiled candidates to housing providers. In addition, Macallam offers an alternative to other recruitment programmes due to set contract costs which enable accurate cash flow forecasting.
Iain Shields, housing sector consultant, Macallam Integrated Resourcing, said, “In the current economy, competition will be fierce for contracts and margins will be squeezed, so management teams will have to be more skilled than ever which in turn demands a higher calibre of candidate. We have therefore identified how to create a radical way of consistently developing and delivering candidates with high potential to our housing clients.”
With graduate recruitment and development programmes being scaled back, the scope for internal succession planning becomes narrower, with Macallam reporting that there is already a skills shortage at middle- and senior-management levels in the housing sector.
