BSG Property Services has deployed Orange’s Fleet Link vehicle tracking system, based on Aeromark technology. BSG’s core business is the delivery of planned maintenance for RSLs and providing support for the Decent Homes programme.
BSG’s previous vehicle tracking system did not deliver accurate vehicle location positioning and was therefore rarely used by staff. During discussions with Orange about the provision of data network services, BSG was introduced to Orange’s mobile workforce management tools including Fleet Link, a high-precision vehicle tracking system developed with Orange partner Aeromark.
Fleet Link allows BSG to give clients accurate estimated arrival times. This ability to track vehicles when they arrive at a customer site and how long they are there has become a vital tool for BSG, enabling them to prepare accurate invoices for the delivery of time and materials.
Jeff Robins, director, BSG, said, “Fleet Link is a key differentiator for BSG over our competitors. Reliable vehicle tracking enables us to prove that we are meeting our service level agreements and to identify potential problems before they happen. There is no question that Fleet Link has played a crucial role in enhancing our customer service.”
The deployment of Fleet Link has resulted in a marked improvement in BSG driver behaviour – vehicle tracking has reduced speeding and fuel consumption, leading to reduced costs and lower carbon emissions. Also BSG can now accurately monitor private mileage to help its engineers avoid paying unnecessary personal usage tax.
