InTechnology has launched ‘pay as you grow’ managed IT services for the housing sector.
The company has extended its traditional connectivity and managed backup services to include a hosted VoIP solution, Unity IP Voice, and its new Push to Experience (PTX – see below) mobile service to protect workers at risk. With its ‘pay as you grow’ service, InTechnology is targeting both housing associations and RSLs with only a couple of IT staff, for whom time savings are critical, and also bigger organisations with much larger data requirements, for whom the efficient handling and processing of data is vital.
Stefan Haase, marketing director, InTechnology, said, “In the current economic climate, the IT department really could be the saviour of an organisation. But to do so, it must be connected to all business decision-making. Once a housing association is connected to the InTechnology ‘cloud’, they can overlay services on a ‘pay as you grow’ basis.”
InTechnology has also recently launched its PTX mobile service for workers at risk, putting housing organisations in immediate communication with staff dealing with emergency repairs, such as floods and fires, and wardens visiting satellite homes and shelters. PTX is the successor to traditional two-way radio services, using the GSM network and low-cost handsets to improve coverage and reduce usage costs. InTechnology’s PTX service includes push to talk (PTT), push to locate and push to alert.
The service is focused initially on lone workers, who usually have to carry several different portable devices, including a mobile phone and radio. PTX combines the functions of the different devices into a single unit with almost unlimited geographic coverage.
