Orchard Information Systems has just started the implementation of a new housing management system at Phoenix Community Housing. The £450,000 contract is based on the IT company’s Orchard Housing system alongside Orchard Mobile and Orchard Asset Management, the latter powered by Keystone.
Phoenix’s decision to replace its existing housing management system was due to its inability to support the housing provider’s changing business needs. Phoenix said that its staff had simply lost faith the system, with this view further supported by a disappointing ‘health check’ of the system by independent consultants.
Referring to its selection process, Phoenix said that it was looking for a fully-integrated core business system that would meet the needs of all departments and staff, from front-line workers to the board.
Nick Edwards, head of ICT and facilities, Phoenix Community Housing, said, “We chose Orchard because we believe it’s the best product for delivering our business aim of driving and supporting improvements for the benefit of our residents. For example, the new system will streamline services for residents, such as checking their rent accounts or booking repairs online.”
