Soprano Solutions has been chosen by Irwell Valley Housing Association for the implementation of a purchase-to-pay procurement system. The centralised ordering system is expected to enable the housing provider to better manage purchase order and invoice processing to minimise unauthorised expenditure, while reducing administration by as much as 50 per cent.
The Soprano system replaces an outdated legacy system which lacked the necessary workflow controls, approval management and financial compliance.
The Soprano system will be used by 40 budget holders across 30 departments within IVHA. All orders will be subject to an electronic approval process to ensure the appropriate authorisation by managers and the finance department. As well as achieving high levels of budgetary control in terms of spend and allocation, the system will also provide advanced management reporting and processing for more than 1,500 orders each month to streamline the accounts payable function.
John Aden, head of sales and marketing, Soprano Solutions, said, “We are already in discussions with Irwell Valley Housing Association about the next phase of implementation that will integrate OCR and document-imaging technologies to help further automate and streamline its purchase ledger function.”
