Chris Fleck joined Mobysoft from LandTech, a global PropTech business serving thousands of property developers in the UK and USA, where he was CTO for the last three years. Before LandTech, he spent 10 years as CTO in other fast-growing SaaS businesses.

At Mobysoft, his remit entails overseeing the construction, delivery and support of Mobysoft’s sector-leading AI-powered predictive analytics platforms trusted by over 180 social housing providers in the UK.

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has conducted research into addressing the systemic challenges associated with the absence of common data standards in social housing. This research aims to facilitate interoperability between systems thereby eliminating inefficiencies such as manual work-arounds and reducing failures. By establishing these standards, the goal is to improve tenants’ outcomes. Better data would help in streamlining processes, improving service delivery and ensuring better data-driven activities across the sector.

It goes on to demonstrate how a modern data platform can be instrumental in unlocking a far-reaching impact across tens of thousands of tenants enabling a step change in organisation’s operational efficiency, winning the Board support for further initiatives and maturing the organisation’s data culture along the way.  Design patterns that ensured the data platform could deliver value at scale for one of the biggest housing providers in the UK will be shared. Rob Gallagher has spent around 20 years working in the field of data in a variety of roles in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering and Data Governance and most recently, Chief Data Officer.  These roles have been in a variety of industries, ranging from financial services, insurance, and public sector.  At Places for People, we’ve recently embarked on a journey to help the organisation become data driven through a multi-year data transformation programme called ‘Making Better Decisions’.  I have a background in engineering, having gained a qualification in Electronic Engineering, and on a more personal note I consider myself to be an avid geek, with interests in science, science fiction and gaming in my spare time.

We’ll be looking at Sovereign Network Group’s data quality (DQ) journey, from our initial steps saying that something was wrong, working out what the ‘problem statement’ was and then getting each element fixed (incl. our focus on the 6 Cs of data quality).

Like many other housing providers, SNG is always keen to share our experiences of what our pain points are (once we’ve identified them, of course).

We’ll also cover how every housing provider needs a senior group who are committed to supporting their teams in their quests for data quality across every level of the company. SNG has such a group and it’s been vital in our DQ success story.
