Capita Software Services has signed recent deals with the London Borough of Ealing and Aberdeenshire and South Lanarkshire Councils for Capita Support which enables access to multiple functions within the councils’ ‘supported housing’ and ‘supporting people’ services.
Aberdeenshire Council selected Capita Support to monitor, renew and evaluate social care contracts. Expected to be operational by August 2009, the system will enable the council to view historical contract information, provide a rating system for service-quality reporting, and offer the ability to record information from the Scottish Commission regarding the Regulation of Care’s quality areas.
Jean Stewart-Coxon, commissioning team manager, Aberdeenshire Council, said, “Social work commissioning and contracting staff in Aberdeenshire Council have recognised for a long time the need for a system to manage the contractual workload and to record details of service providers, contracts and contract monitoring information. The Capita system is now being configured to our particular needs and we are looking forward to implementation.”
South Lanarkshire Council is due to go live in September 2009 with the Capita Support module within its Capita housing management system. A senior housing manager at South Lanarkshire Council said, “We face a continuously evolving range of challenges, particularly in the current economy, and we want to make sure that, with the help of technology, we offer our citizens the best possible services. We have been using the Capita housing management system for over 10 years and see implementation of the Support module as another tool in delivering an effective service to our customers.”
The London Borough of Ealing implementation is scheduled for live operation by the end of 2009.
